The Thomas Milovac Quartet 'Milo's Motion' Album release show
Thomas Milovac is a bassist, composer/improviser, multi-instrumentalist, and artist. He is the leader of various ensembles under his own name including the Thomas Milovac Ensemble, the Thomas Milovac Quartet, and Moon Rays. Thomas is also a member of other ensembles including Ulysses Owens Jr. & Gen Y, the Ryan Devlin Quartet, John Lumpkin & the Covenant, Madre Vaca, and Kristen Warren & Creek. He has also performed with musicians such as Kurt Elling, Steve Cohn, Jonas Van den Bossche, Christian Tamburr, Vincent Gardner, flora flora, Marcus Printup, and Dominick Farinacci. In 2021, Thomas started a record label, Cosmo Sonic Collective, focused on releasing improvised music. He is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania but is now based in Orlando, Florida.
The Thomas Milovac Quartet released their newest album, “Milo’s Motion”, on Cosmo Sonic Collective in May of this year. The quartet features Shawn Villanueva on trumpet, Zach Muth on guitar, David Weatherspoon on drums, and Thomas on double bass performing Milovac’s original compositions. Saxophonist Ryan Devlin and synthesist Derek Dunn also appear on the album.
